History
IGNITE RADIO launched September 2012 as part of the academic learning at Mohawk College. We have taken one of our main audio labs and converted it into a fully functioning radio station which is live online 24/7.
The Radio Broadcasting Program at Mohawk College is extremely popular with past, present and future students alike. Using the same technology as the radio industry, we pride ourselves on giving our students the BEST education.
Equipment
Students will do live shows on the internet using industry standard equipment such as:
- iMedia Touch
- Music Master
- New Audio Boards
- Inception
- Adobe Audition CC
- Pro-Tools
Music
IGNITE RADIO plays ALL HIT MUSIC. From Top 40 tracks to your favourite hits… there is always a song you will recognize. This format will help students keep an upbeat attitude on the air while learning every aspect of what happens “behind the scenes” of a commercial radio station. Please note, that in accordance to SOCAN rules and regulations, we do not accept advertising dollars. Therefore, we just play PSAs and no commercials.
